Why systemic therapeutic coaching?

My therapeutic coaching is influenced by internal families systems (IFS) which identifies three primary parts within each person: managers, firefighters, and exiles.

Managers work to prevent potential pain, firefighters respond to immediate distress, and exiles carry unresolved pain or trauma.

Importantly, none of these parts are deemed inherently negative, with the goal of therapy being to foster balance and collaboration among them rather than elimination. Additionally, IFS therapy incorporates the concept of the "Self," comprised of eight Cs (Confidence, Calmness, Creativity, Clarity, Curiosity, Courage, Compassion, Connectedness) and five Ps (Presence, Patience, Perspective, Persistence, Playfulness).

Engaging with these aspects helps individuals process trauma and achieve internal harmony.

  1. Non-pathologizing Approach: IFS does not pathologize any parts of the self; instead, it sees all parts as valuable and striving to protect the individual in some way.

  2. Internal Dialogue: Be prepared for engaging in internal dialogue or "parts work," where individuals learn to communicate with and understand their different parts more effectively.

  3. Trauma Sensitivity: Recognize that IFS often involves working with past traumas and emotional wounds.

  4. Openness to Exploration: Be open to exploring inner experiences, emotions, and beliefs in a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.

  5. Commitment to Self-Exploration: Individuals learn to apply IFS principles to their daily life.

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.

Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness, or some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and

entertain them all!

Jalaluddin Rumi

In IFS, all parts of the self, even those that initially seem negative or difficult, are seen as valuable guides on the inner journey toward healing and self-discovery. This perspective aligns with Rumi's message of gratitude for all experiences, recognizing that each offers an opportunity for growth and insight. By embracing all parts of themselves, individuals can gain a deeper understanding of their inner world and move toward greater wholeness.
